This is just a quick update, but you must do your best to get a Sobees invite to try out their beta desktop widgets (if this is your thing). I recently received an invite and I must say that I’m impressed.
So far, I’ve only been able to try out their Twitter and RSS widgets. You can download their Twitter widget, bTweets, without a beta invite just to get a small, but sweet taste of the full experience.
It’s very reminiscent of Yahoo! Widgets, or any widget for that matter, but I think the customization and synchronization options of Sobees suite sets it apart from the rest of the widget world.
It still needs a bit of work on the memory consumption and the start up times can be a drag if you’re processor and graphics card aren’t powerful enough to handle it.
Stay tuned for another (and way more detailed) update later tonight. I have 3 invites if anyone would like to try it out. Simply leave a comment. I’ll leave you with a screenshot of Sobees RSS widget running on my desktop:
In the meantime, check out this great video showcasing the entire Sobees suite. Sorry for being such a tease. =P
