AT CES
At CES, EMD Performance Group showcased one of their high-tech products: liquid crystal window panels. These window panels work similar to LCDs and block light. These windows can provide shade in less than a second, contributing to energy efficiency.
They also hosted panels on Smart Cities, Immersive Displays, in-Memory Computing and AI-optimized Quantum Computing. The topics are timely because of the vast array of smart city solutions and displays dominating CES2020.
While hardware took the spotlight, content is still king. During their panel on the “Future of Displays”, Seamus Blackley, Founder & CEO, Pacific Light & Hologram pointed out a key point of differentiation for the adoption of not only displays, but most new technologies: content.

Seamus is right. Not long ago, 3D displays were all the rage and dominated CES. However, where are those displays now? There wasn’t enough quality 3D content to take advantage of, so consumers had one less reason to buy one.
